As oil reservoirs mature, natural reservoir energy and primary recovery mechanisms decline,leading to a significant drop in production rates. Secondary recovery methods,particularly waterflooding, are widely applied to maintain reservoir pressure and improve oilrecovery. However, challenges such as sweep efficiency, water breakthrough, reservoirheterogeneity, and scaling/corrosion issues require careful planning and management.When conventional methods are insufficient, Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques—such aschemical flooding, gas injection, and thermal methods—are introduced to maximize recoveryfactors. Implementing these methods requires an in-depth understanding of reservoir behavior,fluid properties, displacement mechanisms, and operational considerations.This training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical tools todesign, implement, and optimize waterflood and EOR projects to enhance recovery, extend fieldlife, and improve economic returns.
